Im sure another team could out bid this offer for Klingberg. Him retained could help out a team who wants an offense boost and powerplay boost from a dman.

Hint hint. Seattle

Probably doesn’t happen but the report is that Kane would only accept a trade to Toronto or New York. This gives chicago very little leverage. They either trade him for assets or lose him to free agency.

Klingberg doesn’t have that much value. He just hasn’t been that good this season. A second (minten) and a third round pick is probably about as good as you’ll get. Possibly a late first round pick if things go well.

That wasn't a report, though. It was Coliacavo saying that "TOR and NYR's are two teams he would go to", and then everyone took that as "the only two teams" and then they all figured NYR's were probably off the table so TOR has all the leverage and could get Kane for scraps. And CHI will just let him walk if their minimum ask isn't met. His price can only go up, not down, and there is pretty much nothing that will change that. If a team wants him enough to acquire him, then they are just fishing for discounts wherever they can and aren't negotiating in good faith. At which point Davidson will just say "Okay. Good luck in the playoffs. Take care." and hang up the phone.
