Comparing Casey to Clarke is insulting. Casey clears Clarke by so much that implying they can just be swapped out is ludicrous. We don't need Chychrun anyway.

Nemec and Hughes are blue chip franchise level prospects. Holtz is an A/A+ prospect and Casey is A/A-. B prospects would be Grits, Mukh, Foote, Walsh, Okhotiuk.

A/A+ prospects don't take a year off to work on their abysmal skating.

It's never been about his skating, or at least it hasn't since he came over from Sweden. It's about pace of play and adjustment to the NHL. If he was in Utica again demolishing the AHL, people would be higher on him, but the development staff feels practicing with the NHL squad is better for him. Remember how Meier struggled at first?

Thompson is a C prospect but when I was looking at it after I felt I needed to up it but he’d absolutely an A prospect.. he’s been lighting up the NCAA as an 18 y/o.. maybe an A- but that’s still an A.



Holtz is absolutely an A prospect.. he’s ranked like 22 on Wheelers recent rankings and hangs there in most lists.



One of the trade options was absolutely a B prospect, Roster Player, and a First so yeah it’s totally possible without Holtz, you as a fan just won’t be happy but fans aren’t GM’s… PS. Most fans are upset with the return after a big player leaves. The selling team always seems to lose at first and it looks more even in time and this one won’t be any different.. he’s not near the level of Tkachuk which seems to be the trade level SJ fans expect

I think you misunderstood the ask. It’s one A level prospect and a first, TWO B level prospects and a 1st or an established young nhler and a good prospect. None of that is represented here and as bad as you want to believe Casey is an A, he just isn’t. Nemec, Hughes are A yes but not Casey.

Not really, he almost jumped straight from draft to NHL. First full season he had 21 goals, 15 assists - 2 goals, 3 assists in playoffs.
