Investing In Defensing

Created by: IDKtbh

Description
Probably should be investing in Centering but I wanted a $10m 3rd defensive pairing. 🤷‍♂️

For the record, before all the crazies come in here (even tho I’ve blocked most of them) this isn’t a prediction nor is it what I think we should do. Nice D, tho. 👀

I don't think those would be good investments

The Blues don't even respond to that joke of an offer. They probably wouldn't even accept that package just for the retention.

Where to start.......No team in the league would retain that much for that long! If you ever find yourself trading 6/7 pieces for 1 just go ahead and click that delete button up top!

You really going to pay that to play a dude on the 3rd pair. I mean if it was Hronek and pieces for parayko I'd atleast see it some logic in it.

Yeah, probably not.

Well, if we can afford it; why not? And as I communicated in the description, this is just a playful scenario but, there are certainly worse things than having a super stacked defense.

The forward lines are deep and you’re probably looking at a top 3 defense in the league with that group. Combine that with Husso’s level of play without that defense, and I’d say that group would be a force going into the postseason.

Also, with contracts coming off the books and salary cap increasing, we’d have over $35m in cap space after next season to re-sign whoever.

Okay, relax Dikembe. Nobody is trading for a 30 year old on an 8 year contract anyways without some additional benefit. This was just for fun. If the Blues were to trade Parayko, they would absolutely either be retaining or taking back a large contract with term, likely the latter.

Yeah, I did this for s&g but, I agree. I do however think it’s a solid (fair) package, regardless of how far fetched it may be.

It is a joke of an offer. Obviously.

Brotha potted 2 tonight. Probably his best game of the season actually and not just cuz he scored a couple.

that's awesome. I watched Seth Jarvis undress Montembeault for a short handed goal in the last minute of the game for a hat trick. So you'll have to get in line with that moment.

Happy to see that for him, I had big expectations for both he and Necas this year. Hopefully this was a turning point for Jarvis to finish the year off.

He's having a bit of a sophomore slump but he is a mature kid with intelligence on the ice. Not always flashy but right place, right time. He'll have to grow into his role. Big fan of Necas. Hope this is the Necas we get every year.

Yeah, I don’t think Necas looks back. I was hoping Yzerman would find a way to steal him away this past offseason but unfortunately that did not happen. He’s a special player. Jarvis definitely has the skill to go on the same path, he’s just gotta fine tune the small details. A big game like this should surely help get him there.
