Then you could add Foote and the second to the Meier trade. Blues roster is better than the Sharks so we’d look for fewer pieces coming back than they might

More like 10 teams, my friend. And while they probably like several of NJ's prospects, I think Foote is pretty far down the list. It's just not a competitive package.

My first ask would be Mukhamadullin, but yeah, Sharangovich would be a nice pick-up that might thrive in the Blues system.

The Sharks, and their fans, are asking for three elite pieces for Meier without a contract extension. I don’t think parting with Mercer, Nemec, etc sounds very attractive if we are only getting one year.

Oh I’m not willing to go much over what my above package is for Meier. I was referring to foote and a 2nd being a solid starting price for Barby. A young, ~40 point scorer in sharangovich, a solid defensive prospect in Muk, and a 1st in such a deep draft is a package that should swing extremely close to Meier, and Johnsson is of course to even out cap.

Well you should be allowed to do that of course. Im not sure what Grier is doing, but I assume NJ has been lowballing thinking Meier only wants to go there.

If the right offer comes, Im sure a Meier extension wont be hard. The only question is the NJ policy of nothing higher than Hughes

Well, yes. I imagine Devils probably think their best shot at getting him is if player wants to be a Devil.
And if that is true, selling him as a rental would level the playing field against us.
