I don't know.
1-Barbashev extended would take Lysell's spot.
2-They need more value since they are dumping Reilly but they don't have a second rounder

I'd assumed the 3rd was the more value for dumping him.

Unfortunately Barbashev just isn't the type of player you move a 1st and your top prospect for. Seems most teams wont move their top prospects at all. (NYI seems to be an exception seeing Horvat as a long term fit). I'd say Bostons first is rational for Barbashev, given their lack of 2nds.

I agree with you for Barbashev's value
For Reilly, Minny got a 4th for retaining 1,8 millions on O'Reilly for 30 games. 3 millions for another year would cost a bit more than a 3rd I think.

Minnesota also moved their 4th round pick from 2021. They also only really retained $74,000 on ROR. it was fairly insignificant of a deal aside from cap hit wise.

Lysell and a 1st for Barbashev?????? Bos should throw in Pasta to balance it out

4x4 for Barbashev is also an overpayment
