It is not.

As I do not closely follow any of these three teams, where do the key inequities lie?

Flyers are trading a locked-up 3-4 dman. What you're offering there won't even get him alone, let alone with JVR, and salary retained.

Okay, yeah, didn’t even look to consider Sanheim’s term or scanned past the retention. Eight and a half years at 50% on just about anybody with all limbs working wouldn’t have processed as anything beyond a typo.

Sidetracking, heard almost a throwaway comment while watching a game a couple months back that the Flyers were considering buying out Hayes. I know all too well the chaos tornado that whirls in with Torts (though I will forever appreciate him for raising the standard of expectations in Columbus). But is that remotely true? Still second on the team in points, still possibly with trade value as his NTC is limited. I can see the value in buyout over retention, already knocking the price down by 33% then spreading that over twice the term. Yet even the real world contract obligations are less than his cap hit. I rewound to make sure I didn’t mishear; just wondering how misinformed the source might have been. Thanks.
