Just believe that JVR gets more than that, Reilly is a cap dump.

Itss a late round 2nd TWO drafts away and a nice prospect (although 24 yrs old with 3 yrs of limited NHL bites), which is probably close to JVR at 50%, who I think gets a 2nd and 3rd (even if theyre in 2024 or 2025), but why would PHI take Reilly for free for a pretty market value offer.

Why would you acquire that Colton Parayko contract?

Because he is a top D on most teams. This would be the equivalent of getting another Lindholm/MacAvoy. Despite his down year. And a proven playoff guy.

I mean Blues accept that trade. Maybe reuniting Carlo with Krug will make Krug better. But overall it doesn't make sense to move a defensive stud stalwart like Carlo who has a great contract for Parayko.

Parayko's level of play has dropped off significantly over the past seasons including this one. He is not worth this contract, has a full NTC 6/8 years and is signed until he's 37yo. He's not anywhere near Lindholm let alone McAvoy.

Blues move is unnecessary, rather just keep Carlo, hes younger and cheaper and not much worse (if at all) to Parayko
