I assume you're trading for Fleury before the expansion draft, leaving Murray/Tristan left. Tristan is unable to be exposed (exempt from the draft) so you'd lose Murray. And trust me, Las Vegas would take Murray.

Your logic defies me. Pens would simply protect Murray.

It's not that simple, pens have to expose at least 1 goalie under contract, and Jarry isn't available as he's on a rookie deal still. Only Murray could be exposed.

The only way to work around that is to trade for the rights to Chad Johnson in the Fleury trade and sign him to contract before the expansion draft.

Like the Pens don't know that... I'm sure that if they do trade Fleury they will find a way to sign or trade for a cheap goalie to expose jeez

You made a lot of unecessary changes on the roster, in my opinion. Why acquire Sam Gagner instead of pay a bit more to re-sign a so important two-way player like Bonino??? He brings energy, team effort, helps in both sides of the rink and is a great penalty killer. I don't think Gagner would fit well in our roster.

Bring back Daley is not an absurd. In fact, is an acceptable choice. But, if I was Rutheford, I'd bring back Hainsey for 1 or 2 seasons. He made a great d pair with Dumoulin in postsseason and he's a very good penalty killer either. Besides, Hainsey is better defensively than Daley and Pens need more to upgrade their defense than their offense. But I like Daley too.

I think u forgot to sign with important depth players like Cameron Gaunce, Derrick Pouliot, Oskar Sundqvist.

And I really disagree to protect just 3 d-men. Pens don't have 7FW to protect. Otherwise, Määttä has a very good upside in his career. People forget he's just 23 and he's already a very good player. It's normal to have some mistakes in his age. Pens probably would regret to let him go. But I don't think Rutheford will make the mistake to lose a kid with a great potential like Määttä.
