So the Canes waste a 2nd on an injured Monahan? He hasn’t played in 3 months and you Habs fans still hold the delusion that you can get a high pick for him. You will be lucky to get a mid round pick for him at the deadline.

Switch to a conditional 3rd that would become a 2nd based on playing time or something and maybe theres a deal here, but the canes wouldn't risk a 1st for a player who hasn't played since early december.

You can’t retain on 4 salaries, 3 max and monahan value is basically nothing until he is healthy and can play at least one game. He hasn’t been participated in team practices yet. It’s not a good sign for him
