Year 2 after deadline

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 22, 2023
Published: Feb. 22, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If they sign all the guys that I think they should it would look like this.

In this scenario they would need to get rid of one of Murray or Samsonov. Samsonov may have some value at the deadline to recoup some picks for this upcoming draft. 2 x 2nds or something on those lines. Or a 2nd + 3rd. Murray has played well enough for his contract but has been injured, so I assume we would need to pay a small amount to move him and he would need to agree to waive to the team.

ROR is taking a super discount here and this may not be overly realistic. I think this is possible though but more of a dream than probable.

I always value Kampf just over 3m a year. This is a bit of an undercut here. Bunting I usually have similar to the Moore deal in LA 4.2m x 5.

Acciari is hard to value but he would be great to bring back.

Matthews extends 13m x 8 years
Nylander extends 8.5m x 8 years

Robertson and Knies start in the AHL.

Thoughts?

Read Forum Rules. A post that just says "lol" actually violates them.

Willing to share what you see in here that you disagree with to the point of laughter?

Yeah sure. I'll edit it too!

A late 1st for a top 4 D-man, a mid 2nd rounder, and a mid 3rd rounder.
Very funny to me.

I commented on the cap situation in the description. I said one of Samsonov or Murray would need to be traded to make this work.

And maybe Knies is in the line up next year but maybe he is in the AHL. Time will tell!

He is Calgarys 5th dman and would play 5th or 6th minutes on the Leafs also.

Plus I also value Kerfoot as having value and the type of player Calgary can benefit from at this years deadline. He was also included in that deal. But I also understand why they wouldn't want to move Zadorov or at least not for this package.

While I think O'Reilly would take this deal later on in his career. I think you are right, it may just be a dream. This will be his last chance to cash in. I think baseline starts at 5 to retain him.

This could very well be. He is worth 5m + for sure but I think at that point he prices himself out of Toronto and fair enough. I see him going back to ST Louis as a high possibility as well.
