I doubt Buffalo does that.

Pittsburgh first round pick is interesting because they are either going to miss or be a first round exit, but they don’t need Blueger, and they won’t trade Olofsson he’s on pace for 34 goals this season.

I think it really could depend on how the next 5 games go before the TDL. This could really be a make or break stretch for the Sabres playoffs hopes. If they lose ground during this stretch it's possible they could part with Vic. He's scoring, but he's also a net negative 5v5 and may not be a player they envision as part of their core. Retooling the bottom 6 is something that needs to be considered to inject a little more defensive ability and grit into the line-up.

@BUF10
This could be a classic win-win to put both teams into the play offs.
Buffalo needs help on the PK, Blueger and PIT can use some additional scoring, Olofsson.
You know as bad as the game was yesterday, if Buffalo could have prevented the second period PP goal by TML, the outcome may have been different.
Pulling a GK when a team needs two goals to tie, may not instill much confidence to over come that deficite.
If it was only one goal, maybe Buffalo could have pulled it out.

If Hextall would be willing to trade the 2023 first, even if the Sabres did not make the playoffs this year, having 5 picks in the first two rounds this year would be exciting.
Plus there is that Riga connection with Girgensons.
If Hextall offered this to Karmanos, Jason would strongly consider it.

It’s pretty clear that Adams isn’t trading away or adding new forwards this season. If he adds which I don’t think is likely it’s going to be a defenseman.

The Sabres need to acquire a veteran defenseman.

Doubt Adams is worried about the playoffs...but acquiring that extra 1st can be used to acquire a veteran Dman

Which approach should the Sabres realistically take?

Kevyn Adams: make trades, make playoffs, do the right things, pro-Sabres

Darcy Regier: do nothing, do not make playoffs, do the wrong things, anti-Sabres, get fired

Kevyn Adams: make trades, make playoffs, do the right things, pro-Sabres what trades for players has he made, he has traded players away and received good returns but never traded for a roster player by trading away picks or prospects
Darcy Regier: do nothing, do not make playoffs, do the wrong things, anti-Sabres, get fired I am not sure which Darcy Regier to which you are referring.
But 3 of the top seven and two of the top 3 scorers of the last Sabre team to win the Presidents trophy were all brought in by trades.
Here is the issue everyone.
Is the objective to make the playoffs? Well then trade futures now to achieve that objective.
Is the objective to win the Stanley cup? Well then let Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Power etc. reach their potential then trade to fill in the gaps reach the ultimate goal.

As to the current team.
The objective is to reduce goals.
That can be achieved by improving the GK, defensemen or adding defensive forwards.
Blueger may not score goals, but he can stop the other team from scoring, especially on the PP which is a huge weakness for the Sabres.

As stated above this could be a win win trade.
Buffalo reduces the Goals against and gets a pick for the future to achieve the ultimate goal.
Pittsburgh improves their scoring.

Buffalo fans need to keep their eye on the prize, the Stanley Cup, this team is not ready to compete for that.
