Description
+ After Russo's tweet - https://twitter.com/RussoHockey/status/1628455995826491394?s=20 - I felt this would need to be done to see what it could take not giving up a 1st, but lots of retention. VAN adds two solid roster players with Addy signing

+ Moving Dumba at 22/23 TDL has to be done due to asset management. Sabers are only 4 pts back with 5 games in hand, have a hold on the RD side and their prospects pipeline on D is lite due to their monsters already on the back end. Dumba can be extended and play a shutdown role with Dahlin for the next 4 years.

+ Rossi gets another year in AHL to marinate and balance cap. Takes over for Hartman year after.

+ Schenn doesn't have to resign, but he would be nice depth instead of Goose.

+ New "BEEF" line gets created with Beckman instead of Greenway to keep scoring balance through 3 lines. Better for MIN lineup.

+ Jensen comes back home to play in top 4 and adds a little offensive punch to the top 4, but is better defensively than Addy signing for $2-3Mish to offset retention with a solid D prospect ready to come in next year or year after.
+ Would've liked Nick Jensen, but he will cost more than the Wild can afford unless Boeser retention is 50% or more.

Canucks aren’t retaining that much and taking back Greenway

Thoughts on what he would get? I was doing this with him taking a hometown discount. The Wild could sign a vet around $2-2.5M depending on other things.

I think they do if they get the player(s) and/or picks back. Boeser doesn't have any value at 6.65M. All of this could still work with VAN eating another $1M less and MN signs a vet near league minimum.

Ben Chiarot 31 years old - 4x4.75M
Nick Leddy 31 years old - 4x4M
Josh Manson 30 years old - 4x4.5M
Erik Gudbranson 30 years old - 4x4M

It will be his first opportunity (also probably last) to get a decent contract. Can't see how Jensen wouldn't at least get 4M+ on a multi-year contract.

Sabres would decline imo
1- don’t think we’d give up the Philly 2nd for Dumba
2- Certainly wouldn’t add a pretty decent prospect to a 2nd round pick

I hear you, but all of these players are superior to Jensen with the exception of Gudbranson (we all know this was bad). I could see Jensen get $3.5M though if is 4 years or less or closer to $3M if more than 4 years.

Even then- at minimum- i think you’ve gotta take out the prospect as well

If you want the prospect, then the pick likely has to drop a round- maybe even 2

Just my guesses though

reports suggest canucks will only retain in the 1-1.5 mil range. In this scenerio they would be paying the exact same amount they are paying boeser for greenway who is a far worse player.

Totally hear you. The extra value comes in getting either a young roster player as RFA, a prospect about to start ELC and/or picks. Greenway is there so the Nucks have a solid vet to help next year.

the purpose of trading boeser would be to create cap flexability. this doesnt do that.

Maybe that work??
Hard to say when i really have no clue how we value our Russian prospects

This could be in the ballpark of an acceptable deal though
But again, I’m guessing here
