Anderson is a cap dump to Winnipeg. He's not good enough offensively to play in the top 6 of a good team and is too expensive and not good enough defensively to play in the bottom six. Montreal would need to add their unprotected 1st in 23 to dump him on Winnipeg.

Anderson has plenty of value to the organization and league-wide, Mailloux is going to be an absolute stud 2nd pairing RD, and giving up any 1st rounder for a guy who will eventually just chose to come to montreal for free in MAX 2 years is a waste.

We don’t need to trade for Dubois. He’ll eventually come here on his own… All this does is make us a better next year (But not really playoff better).
