Description
Pens aren't going anywhere this year. This team needs so many fixes that cant be done in a deadlines time. The focus should be on beginning to solve the issues that plague this team. Zucker has been great this year and is worth a late 1st round pick imo. Jarry for UPL trade might be hard for both teams to swallow. Buffalo is making a push and Jarry should help with that. Lossing UPL is tough but Buffalo still has Levi and Portillo in the system and Jarry if extended should be a very nice stop gap. Losing Jarry means Pens will have to solve the starting goalie spot in the offseason. Come off-season/draft I would like to see Petry, McGinn and Kappy moved but who knows if Petry can even be moved (with out retention). With the acquired assets maybe the pens can move up and find a more nhl ready player. This post is what I would like to happen not what I think will happen, cause Hextall sure as **** ain't doing ****

Buffalo isn’t giving up Luukkonen for Tristan Jarry. I don’t see Buffalo being interested in him in the first place.

UPL has shown great promise and until the Sabres get a better understanding of what their other goalie prospect can do in the pro ranks, they have no need to move UPL.

Exactly what @NickC1988 & @Tjm220 said

We aren’t gonna trade our promising young goalie for a rental
There’s ZERO chance

Maybe for Portillo & a draft pick or forward prospect- MAYBE

That’s what I’m saying but I don’t see Buffalo doing that trade. Trade Jarry to a contender looking for an upgrade 1B and retain 50%. We have the retention spots, might as well use them on pending UFAs worth it. And I’d rather get a 1st for Jarry retained than another goalie coming back. Blomqvist will eventually take the role of starter most likely in the future. I’d rather just sign a vet in free agency or go after Vejmelka.
Should trade Blueger to Seattle while we’re at it. They could probably use a defensive and penalty killing bottom 6 C and can probably get a 3rd back for him, maybe even a conditional one that can bump up to a 2nd based on stats or something.
I’d also look at trading Petry. It would suck cause he has been pretty good. But that’s all the more reason to cash in on him now. Especially with some typical bottom feeders/rebuilders that have cap space are either in a wild card spot or just out of it like Buffalo and Detroit.

Just so ya know,
Sabres would have no interest in Petry with (imo
