If Washington is to move either TvR or Jensen, I can see them accepting this. If both stay, I think Washington instead moves Eller for a pick, especially as Walsh loses waiver exemption next year iirc.

Yeah the whole idea of moving Walsh is because he losses his waiver exemption and there’s no real path to him making this devils roster. I thought the value here makes sense as Washington gets a decent RD in need of a chance rather than a dart throw they’d have to wait on for a couple years. And waiting on Jensen and TVR makes sense.

I think we need Walsh for 2023-24 to give Nemec another year to develop (and preserve that extra slide year). Unless we plan on extending Severson.

Even if it were true that we needed him, there's no shot they'd actually give him that opportunity.

Walsh was declared ready last year when Subban got hurt, but then had covid exposure had to stay in AHL. He has been one of the better 5v5 dmen in AHL for last couple of season and is highly favored by the advanced stat crowd. I cannot see any reason why he wouldn't get the chance in 2023-24.
