That retention on Ekholm cost a lot more, maybe another 1st even.

I heard a rumor, unsubstantiated that the Isaac Ratcliffe to NSH deal for futures, is part of a larger conversation around Ekholm (no retention) for Sanheim (resigned at similar salary long term, younger though) kind of deal, (bit more added in to make it work).

Hmm. I don’t mind that with the retention. Do you think Nashville would retain that much for 3 more seasons? It’s just if they want to be a competitive team, they may need that 3M.

Okay, yah, I probably would pull the trigger too. The oilers need to win now, not later, and Ekholm is a good defence man. I definitely rather him over Erik Karlsson.

Agreed, I think that's a no brainer with that much retained.
