Ouf. That'd be a pretty big discount considering what they paid for him. Not saying it'd be a Meier-type return, but I can't see it being that much less than they gave up 6 months ago. Still getting him for 2 playoff runs.

Agreed, but Ottawa got him for a 1st (Korchinski), 2nd and 3rd. In my books, a 2023 first+Bokk is a better package but it's subjective.

Lol not even close. What are you on? You think An RFA Debrincat gets worst than a rental ROR? Lol

I disagree. They got him for 7OA, 39 OA, and a 3rd. Book is 23 now and hasn't shown much at the pro level in North America. He's a depth player at best. A late 1st+him absolutely does even sniff the original package.

There might be a drop off in quality young piece like won’t get back a Nemec, Hughes, Korchinski etc type of young piece. But I can still see a pretty big offer. And even better in the summer if let’s say Carolina makes Pesce available for him in a sign and trade.

Ppl discount the 7th overall as being worth more than just a 1st. It’s rare teams trade top 10 picks in general, so that’s a huge piece in a trade

Agreed. People seem to generalize 1st round picks into a "All 1sts are equal!" category.

Side note: I'm still a bit jealous that my Ducks didn't get Debrincat, but I guess I'll settle on the fact that they got Mintyukov, and he's lookin' better than Korchinsky (at this point at least...)
