Team: 2022-23 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 1, 2023
Published: Mar. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa brings back Drouin for the year to add speed into the lineup and give Montreal a prospect in return that could help their bottom 6.

Waiving PEB will create a bit more cap room to make some moves to upgrade the d core a bit if needed.

Prospects like Howard could be moved in the right deal for a RHD upgrade.

No way the habs would do this for a undersized 23 year old sub .5 ppg ahler . They would be better off using the retention spot for a late pick

You literally just gave an undersized AHLer a two year contract. This is better than losing Drouin for nothing.

I don,t think Drouin fetches very much even with retention, a 4th at most but more likely a 5th, but especially with the latest signing, another undersized AHL player does not help the Habs at all. The Habs are sellers in part because they have so many undersized AHL-level players.

it would probably cost a prospect like Duke or Huuhtanen as well which id be hesitant but Fabbro is still young as well

Yeah, and honestly Howard, Duke, Huuhtanen and Hugo are the four prospects I'd try to avoid trading away (especialy Huuhtanen, I think the kid is special) - not that we have many more LOL

So you just ignored the age gap and production gap between the two players. At the same age Fortier had 10 points in 30 games whereas Simoneau has 28 in 44.

Terrible comparison

That's a worse idea than putting Namestnikov with Kuch and stammer. One of Steve Yzerman worst picks was Drouin at 3 one of his best
moves thought was trading Drouin for Sergachev.
