Sorry, but that's a very underwhelming offer for Saros.

Buffalo was smart to be patient they weren't gonna do any damage this year but I'd focus on a top 4 RHD then a starting goalie, you could get a good goalie for cheap and go the Colorado route where your team is so good that a goalie doesn't even matter. With your guys offense if you can bolster that D core average goaltending should get you to the playoffs next year IMO.

What would you think they're looking for in that regard?

I like where your heads at. There's still quite a bit of work to do in our end in front of the goalie. As a Canucks fan, I'm sure that you are familiar with myers, the chaos giraffe, we've got some heavy lifting of our own, cleaning up the high danger scoring chances. I think an average goalie is just swell if we clean up out own end, plus we've got high hopes for levi.

While Saros is obviously a good goalie,
He’s only under contract for 2 years after this
And that’s not a time period in which we are likely to be Cup Contenders

And will we really wanna sign Saros to the long term extension he’ll demand that takes him into his late30s??

Seems like he’s a bit too old to me

We also have young talent at goalie, & likely more coming with Levi expected to sign soon

Saros is an interesting idea
If he came at a reasonable price - (not two 1sts & a top prospect) - then it might make more sense

We’d just have to make sure that we can reasonably buy out the last couple years of his next contract

Perennial Vezina contenders in their prime on team-friendly contracts never really hit the market either. Saros is kind of like Jeannot, in that NSH doesn't want to part with him. It would take a strong enough offer to force their hand - like TB gave up for Tanner.

I wouldnt resign him and i'm not sold on UPL. Saros would be there while levi developes. If UPL or Levi disapoint maybe i resign him. Buy im probably moving on regardless. I'd just hate to not make a long shot cup run next year and im ready to move on from all the peices above in the future anyway.
im also getting Sissons whose on a super reasonable deal for a few years to bounce around my bottom 6.

How about a 1st, a 30 goal scorer, a previous 1st rnd prospect young nhl center and a solid defensive prospects rights. And aaa 3rd.

For what it would actually take to get Saros,
you’d be giving up quite a bit to have him for just over 2 years

And he’s likely not enough to realistically make a Cup run next season- maybe in his last season here?
But if we aren’t gonna extend him, then he should probably be traded by the deadline at the latest
Shouldn’t let him walk for nothing

What team did you have in mind? BUF doesn't really have what you're offering here.
