Deslauriers did nothing in his first stint in Montreal, too much youth and talent in the system to waste a spot on him.

Laughton is likely untouchable, that contract is gold moving forward for Philly.

Throwing a defenseman with a bad back, a reclamation project and a prospect would not get you Laughton.

As much as I love Laughton and think he might be named the next captain of the team I wouldn't say he's untouchable by any means. Will be 32 when his current contract ends so he might not fit the rebuild timeline. I do agree that the return doesn't equal laughton's value considering Edmundson would be a rental, and likely not waive to come to philly. Also can't see picks being moved especially in this draft

Would another rookie like Luke Tuch added to this can help to part ways with Laughton cuz he fit our time window

Ylonen is of some intrest but don't know too much about the habs prospect pool. Tuch seems like he's a solid two way guy but I think picks might need to be there to get a trade done. I think if made available most teams in the league would be in on Laughton so the price could keep getting pushed up

Gurianov, 3rd, Tuch, Ylonen and we need to shred Edmundson ( he replace laughton leadership even if not playing) salary and spot for D-Lo (we need a 13th forward who can defend our kids) + Laughton and maybe a d prospect ? Could this work?

Can't see why Montreal would want any of those pieces unless they are selling Ylonen or Gurianov for the pick, and why would they?

Laughton fit our style and help to build a trio with Suzuki and Caufield his two way game and energetic pace is exactly to final piece to create a trio (he is also a bargain)

Get rid of Tuch and make the pick a 2nd and it might make more sense to me. I think it would be more likely Laughton is moved to a contender as a piece by himself for something in return

Any assets we spend should be for players with long term contracts or team control. Laughton is the kind of player you add to fill a hole at the end of a rebuild, not the beginning.

so shall we trade Anderson ? Laughton with us now could help to build chemistry and let a young Caufield take all the needed time to grow his two-way game without stress. Also taking off the book a leader in Edmundson while bringing Laughton it's a win for our room! Asset management are for last puzzle piece, not secondary asset that we can build our team with.

Anderson's on the bubble, but he's also under contract and we don't need to give up assets for him. Hopefully we can get a year or two of playoffs with him, but trading him is a debatable point. I wouldn't simply because he does so many things we need in our lineup that not many can provide, but that could change as the team develops.

Anderson is a leader in the room. The retired equipment manager named Price, Weber, Perry, and Anderson as our leaders during our playoff run and he's the only one left.

I dont want him traded. Hes been unreal the last 15 games. But id love to see capfriendly melt as the return will be massive and yet so many here talk so confidently about him being a cap dump yet are so so wrong. This place really is like twitter. The Josh Anderson deniers remind me of those twitter people that call out celebrities donating money for clout. The lack of self awareness is quite present online. You can present facts until they have nothing to say or ignore them

our prospect pool is close to be fulled (not counting goalie) Laughton is a good add up if we wish another Leader as Anderson is, and now that Philly will blow up we need to buy!

Philly has no leverage. They need a complete culture change and need to burn it to the ground much like Chicago did. The fact they didnt even pull their goalie with over a minute left down by 2 says it all. Total dysfunction and Briere needs to clean house.

Completly agree with that assessment! That's why I want to bring in Laughton in a buy low situation. He got something that we lack top 9 energetic rush 2 way game.

10 goals last 2 games vs the defending Cup Champs and Crosby led 3 time Champs Penguins with a Habs team half full an AHL team, no less.. Not bad. Just need a little luck in the lottery and the isles to hold off the Cats.
