If he agrees to 5x8 I'm on board 100%, but I doubt he will.

He has one year until UFA, correct? I think most guys would go long-term or shorter (ie 3-years) so they can another solid crack at UFA deal.

You're right but here is the dilemma. A know stats don't tell the whole story of "value". DeBrincat is 91st for points per game among forwards.......91st is now paid 5.8m
Do Sens pay what they think he will be in later years or think they have to pay him "star" salary becomes they gave so much to acquire him.

Probably more of a reason to see him go for short term deal

Great point , personally I don’t think they should. Put some coin towards a goalie. I would not hitch my wagon to a horse recovering from double MCL tears.

The month of March has been a push to see if Ottawa can climb into the wild card race. In 11 games ADB has 1 goal , 3 assists , -9 , while averaging ~ 19 minutes a night. His shooting % is .03. He is not helping to prove his value right now.
