Pretty sure any Sabre prospect would be available for the right price, especially for a Vezina calibre goalie in his prime that you could afford to extend, or they could just keep
Collecting prospects I guess and staying in between the contenders and the bottom feeders of the league (see the Jets and Flames)

Don't see Seattle doing that. Seattle is going for a deep run and you don't trade guys like Gourde when you are.

So you don't think they'll be planning on another one?
They also seem to have a pretty strong minors so This doesn't really make sense for a team trying to win now and embrace a fan base Gourde I guarantee is lived by Seattle fans as he was in TB.

They’re not a contender yet, or next season, bubble playoff team.

You looking at the same standings I am because they may not be Cup favorites or anything, but are a team that could win a couple rounds. Either Grubauer or Jones gets hot or something like Pittsburgh did with Murray and Fluery play the hot hand.

Even though any prospect could be made available I doubt the best graded one outside of the NHL will be sent for a pending ufa goalie and 6th/7th defenseman. Not to mention another first round pick. More likely if Kulich was available it would be for a package including top 4 Dman.

Kulich is having one of the best AHL seasons for an 18 year old ever.

He's not available and will be a sabre next year

Sabres fans are unreasonably high on Kulich its so annoying. There are plenty of other great prospects in your pool, relax.

Okay he is putting up good numbers on a good AHL team, its not like he is dominating. And you are clogged at center with Thompson and Cozens extended long term and Savoie being there as well, in addition to other smaller guys. Even at wing you are clogged.

Kulich is good, he is 100^ touchable. Stop being so unrealistc

So although i agree everyone is avaiable for the right price kulich is unique in that he's a larger power center. He's not untouchable because he's a superstar he's untouchable because he could be a valubable botyom 6 forward to add later on where as prospects like rosen, wiesbach, ostlund, and even savoie would have to bump another skill guy out to make the roster.
If you replace say girgensons with rosen its not going to work. Kulich however fits. If he's nothing special in sabres pool to you then you'd be fine taking some one else...
Savoie is also a keeper as anyone of our young top 6 could fall off the rails and he's the insurance.
so not untouchable as much as not getting traded unless they're replaced.
That being said goaltending a big need. It would depend what kind of deal helly needs to stay in buf.

He is having one of the best 18 year old AHL seasons ever.

He also likely won't play center in the NHL. He is the best of all of our prospects. He's not being traded. He wasn't available for Meier and he wasn't for Chychrun. He isn't being traded for a pending ufa goalie with assets being added on top.

i never said he should be traded for that, but to say he is untouchable is stupid.

Him having "one of the greatest AHL DY+1 seasons ever" means nothing when the vast majority of DY+1 prospects can never even play in the AHL then lol. Hes on a great team producing well, but he isnt the one leading the team

He is good, a very good prospect. He isnt this "elite" cornerstone piece. Id still value Savoie over him. And @DDossett gave very fair reasoning, citing play style. But to claim he wasnt available for Meier or Chychrun is just stupid, and citing his DY+1 AHL season is a bad faith argument. Its like citing a DY+2 putting up 100 points in the CHL and claiming them to be equal to Bedard. Like I love Mattew Maggio, but I also know he isnt on the same level as Connor Bedard since theyre both 100+ point CHL scorers. Be realistic

Regardless of the Kraken's playoff prowess, the trade proposal does not make them a better team at any point of the season. Mittelstadt may do well with an opportunity elsewhere, and maybe if SEA didn't have Beniers and Wright to build around, but don't see a fit or interest.

The GM said it in his post trade deadline press conference that meier and/or chychrun didn't happen because they wanted kulich or savoie

Juniors vs ahl is an asinine comparison.

What kulich is doing is very impressive.

Asinine? Bro do you know how the CHL works? CHL players are not allowed to play in the AHL full time (except in extremely rare circumstances and for very few games). I didnt compare them lmfaoooooooo, i stated the FACT that talking about DY+1 AHL scoring is bad faith

And what the GM says means nothing lol. It was clearly that he didnt wanna pay the price. The point is that claiming Kulich is untouchable is just stupid, and you will be servely disapointed in him. He will be a great middle six guy, thats it

I know we call a lot of players replaceable but Mittelstadt is the definition of a replaceable player

He’s not an awful player just the most average player anyone could ever name

And Guys like Gourde drive playoff teams there was a reason he started almost every period of 2 consecutive Stanley Cup runs.
