So per LTIR rules ROR can play as early as Tomorrow. But I feel we wont see him till Wednesday vs. FLA at the earliest.

When hes back I say either put him back on the second line with JT or try Jarnkrok-ROR-Lafferty as a 3rd line

Mam we do not look like we want to play tonight giving Carolina a 5 on 3 right off the bat not the right way to start a game

The top PP unit is so deadly when they work it bellow the goal line, why they don’t do that more

Matthews having good game, rielly 2 assists, Jarnkrok getting a goal good

Tavares meanwhile looks dead out there

Terrible in the faceoff circle and looks like he's past 40 with his reaction times

And Cookie crumbled tonight as giving Carolina a 5 on 3 and an own goal YIKES

Hopefully ROR comes back soon as having someone to give JT a break would be nice

Didn't realise we started a new forum, so I'll post my commentary here:

Really annoying loss. Leafs were without a doubt the more dominant team. Feels like an avoidable loss, but these always tend to be the games we lose. The top line looked super good and the bottom 6 was very engaged. Couldn't even squeeze out an extra OT point or anything. Oh well, atleast we wont have to worry about the Canes until the ECFs

He pushed Murray's pad leading to him slipping when he didn't need to. That's on Acciari

In general not his best game hopefully it's a one off

Agree to disagree, that second effort from Noesen was just very good. It is what it is I guess

Liligren is fast becoming a press box candidate. Ever since TDL its just been bad bad bad for him. Gustafson has been more noticeable and tonight Liligren looked bad again while Rielly helped get us goal 1 and 3

Idk he needs to figure it out as I want to see him in game 1

Agreed but if Morgan Rielly doesn’t blow the zone early and stays in front of the net, he is at least in position to defend Aho.

But it’s a nothing play if Liljegren gets it out, so plenty to blame to go around.

Should have at gotten a point tonight

So would this be a bad time to mention that I think Liljegren might be a possible trade candidate?

Yes? Well I am doing it anyway.

We have a decent RHD pipeline coming for the future years, and we are trying to win now. If Keefe doesn't trust him enough with 2nd pair mins - it genuinely might make sense to move him if we could secure a RS Jake McCabe Esq player. That could be through trade, or free agency or whatever - but I do think that there is a situation where it makes sense IF you can find the right guy

Think something like:
McCabe-Brodie
Rielly-(Clifton, Roy, etc)
Gio-Timmins
Schenn

Can use Lily either as part of the trade for a team looking to get younger, but more likely as a piece to get another forward

I look forward to when Timothy Liljegren requests a trade and we all wonder why. Then he gets moved for a late 1st.

Liljegren average ice time 01/03 - 02/26
18:55 3G 6A +12

Liljegren average ice time since 03/03 till 03/25 and the new additions (heathy scratched multiple times):
14:18 0G 2A -4

Coaches like older players. Its not just Keefe, its pretty much all of them. We have the pipeline to weather a Lily move long term and if we can get a big increase in the short term I think it could happen. Anyway Lily is just going through a rough patch. He will be fine - and I seriously doubt he askes for a trade
Only issue is that there are a very limited number of players who fit what we are looking for, and all have issues.
Clifton - UFA
Roy - 1 year at 3 then UFA
Dillion 1 year at 3.9 and also in decline
Schmidt 2 years at 6 - brodie type rather than McCabe + the contract isn't an ideal fit
etc

In general Liligren was good till the TDL then seems to be falling apart. Keefe has given him ample opportunity but hes not done well which is why were seeing the ice time drop.

I hope this is just some odd slump and he rebounds but man if this continues hes not gonna be in game 1. And yea agreed hes not gonna request a trade as why would he. Keefe is putting him out with guys like Gio, McCabe, and Rielly and he hasnt looked good with any of them. He needs to work on himself as this current version is not the guy were used to seeing

He won't be in game 1. It isn't even a "if this continues" thing. I told you guys awhile ago that one of the kids are going to get benched. I figured it be Sandy but he got moved so that leaves Lily
