Initial Creation Date: Mar. 6, 2023
Published: Mar. 26, 2023

Very possible Nylander could hit open market. Wings need high end goal scoring.

Seider and Raymond get bridge deals similar to deals Sergachev and Kucherov received.

What would need to be added in your opinion, or what’s a Karlsson trade look like to you?

A better prospect for starters. Niederbach is 21 and struggles to score in the Swedish B league. Karlsson might be expensive but you're looking at a likely 100 point defenseman and likely Norris trophy.

Carter Mazur and Sebastian Cossa fill actual needs. Last thing we need is another LD prospect (mcisaaac) and the aforementioned Niederbach isn't scratching an organisational itch at all. If Grier is moving our best and most marketable player, he's going to want things of need in return, not just throw ins to make a logjam even more jammed.

I hope the Leafs can agree to an extension with Matthews and Nylander in the offseason. If they can't I highly think they should consider moving them.

It would hurt way too much to let them walk for nothing. But it is definitely a possibility.

Agree this isn’t enough. Possibly putting up 100 points this year and sharks do retain some and taking a not good contract back in Chiarot. Needs to be more quality in the trade.

I would want at least a 1st and not Boston’s first, a much higher end prospect like Wallinder, Chiarot can be involved that’s fine, maybe Zadina to try and recover his career.

Neiderbach has something like 20 points in 100 SHL games in his career over a few seasons, not great. McIsacc turns 23 and is maybe, maybe a 7th D in years. Just not good quality for what will be a 3 time Norris winner after this year

Niederbach has also played in hockeyallsvenskan this year and put up very low production for such low competition.

Firstly, signing Seider to a bridge deal is just asking for trouble. Secondly, that isn't enough to get Karlsson retained - even assuming he recesses.
