One Wings fan to another, I'd hold on to something the comments aren't going to be so friendly.

Short sighted guy I see. Value wise I get it, bring in a top 5 talent. At face value, Detroit wins.

However it seems you don’t realize that the two first rounders could be huge pieces when Detroit is an actual cup contender. Kasper could be the 2C for the next 10 years. Lombardi could be a top 6 winger for 10 years. Combined with the other pieces, that depth helps and makes a team better.

Drai could leave soon, his new contact could be a detriment, he could regress in Detroit, a lot more factors than just him being on the team.

Edmonton has 3 100 pt guys and still hasn’t won a cup. Questions about depth, defense, goaltending…. Even with two top 5 players in the world Edmonton hasn’t gotten it done. Why should the Wings follow suit?

Its a win for Detroit, but Yzerman says no. While fans want the team to win NOW, Yzerman wants them to win for longer than now. This would only hurt the Red Wings long term
