Same situation as Campbell last year: this is the year where Samsonov can fetch a big contract, I don't think 3.3 makes him stay in Toronto.

Samsonov is 26 and is a RFA. Name a team where he will be a starter for a playoff team

At 26 he has the option of going to arbitration (or just accepting his QO) and walking to UFA next season if they don't overpay him at least a little bit.

Yea, I believe Samsonov could be subject to an offer sheet up to 4.3m which could second rounder.

Murray has lot of short term injuries. Certainly no reason to believe he will be eligible to be on LTIR for the whole season.

Putting him on LTIR for NEXT YEAR the day after he has a suspected concussion is quite mean spirited and comes across as rooting for long term neurological issues for a guy to make salary cap work for a sports team

Yea, mean spirited, but understandable by FANactics You could say the same for Muzzin. Putting a player on LTIR isn't really a team decision, it's an NHL decision. A player has to deemed "unfit" to play by the league, not by the team (who just might want cap space).

Just on the subject on offer sheets, why wouldn't the Sabres or some of the other upcoming teams with cap put in offer sheets for Samsonov, Swayman, Rangers Dman Miller. Up to 4.3m cost a second rounder. I don't see how some teams could match. IMO the Wings and Sabres, maybe the Sens and Habs are going to be top contenders in the Atlantic for the next half the decade.

I would be interested for a goalie. We're about to pay dahlin and power and gave Samuelsson 7 years (and have 7 d under contract for next year already) so not interested there.

You really dropped Buffalo in that list? No one signs or wants to play in Buffalo

Samsonov getting offer sheeted doesn't mean he will accept it. He has it nice in Toronto

Leafs can afford him at $4.3M. He wants $5M? Leafs can afford that as well. He will be signing a Vitek Vinacek contract, that's his comparable

Well that's not true and yes, I put the qualifier of playoff contender, which they are one.
