Based on the noise around Carolina from both the Miller and Horvat trades, it sounds like the Canucks wanted one of their young centers but they wouldn't do it. They originally asked for Necas in a Horvat trade and there were rumours about Kotkaniemi. Carolina likely didn't want to move Kotkaniemi given he's had a good year and moving him for a pick hurts their Cup aspirations.

And it's hard to put into Zucker's point totals how important his impact has been. He's been described as the Pens' engine this year. No one on the team plays harder or with more energy.
