Description
There’s no way he stays in Winnipeg after his current contract expires. I’d expect him to be moved sometime next year as a rental, so what are some possible destinations?

I could see Boston, Carolina, Avs, Wild, Detroit, and Kraken. Those teams may have internal reasons against trading for him for various reasons but all those teams could use a good 1b type center. The question is, who wants him and would actually make a competitive offer

I think the best rental and extension location would be Carolina.

Pittsburgh, Washington Kraken and Deteoit. No doubt there would be heavy interest from many teams.

Pitt was after JT Miller pretty heavily so I can see Scheifele of interest.

Washington has a ton of money committed to their forward group but if Kuznetsov is moved, they'd have to go for Scheifele if available.

Seattle is a wildcard but I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to make a splash this offseason.

I think Detroit would rather have an improved center over Copp and Yzerman isn't really making headway towards a competitive team but Scheifele would be a huge addition. A line with Scheifele, Raymond and Copp could be a great 2nd line.

Minnesota can't afford Scheifele, And i doubt he's traded within the division.

He did grow up a Red Wings fan, Yzerman was his idol growing up. Plus he and Copp are the best of friends and we do need a 2C. So i definitely wouldn't rule out Detroit as a prime destination. And he's another one of those Kitchner Ontario kids who grew up rooting for Detroit.

MIN needs that type of number 1 C, but it’d have to take some cap black magic to make it work. They just make sense to me as a destination based on need

Ottawa Buffalo toronto Detroit, could see extension or trade this summer, should be a wild summer in Winnipeg. Probably some plan a extensions in one drawer and plan b and go scorched earth in the other with decision summer hitting for Dubois/scheifele/helly
