No, no, no, we'll take Myers off your hands if YOU give US a 2024 fourth after July 1 and we'll give you our 2024 sixth. A $6 million cap hit is a $6 million cap hit, no matter how much it is in real money. In this very instance, getting rid of it allows you to add two players you DO want (Haula and Mayfield) in exchange for losing one player you don't.

-Arizona just eats a year of Pearson at $3.25M and 2x$2.5M of Poolman out of the goodness of their hearts, huh? Rathbone adds minimal value to the package; I think the Coyotes are going to ask for at least a 2nd rounder to eat those deals for you.

-Similar concept here - Anaheim is doing you a favor by getting that $6M off your books. Why are they giving up *anything* when they're the ones doing you a favor?

rhd tend to have inexplicable value. Myers I can see being one of those given his 1M caphit. Especially for a team on an internal budget like Anaheim. Wouldnt the Ducks prefer having a stop gap they could dump at 50% at the tdl for a 4th + minimum be better than overpaying a rhd in ufa?

Pearson and Poolman's careers are over. It won't cost anywhere near a 2nd. Look at what they got for taking 1.5 years of 8.25M in Voracek. Rathbone holds more value than a 6th round pick still.

We need a #1RHD for 2-3 years who can regress to #2 RHD for another couple years. Drysdale will become 1RHD in time, but it'll be a few years yet. To answer the follow up question, no, Fowler Drysdale hasn't worked as a pairing.

While the 1 million is attractive to us, the 6 million is much more attractive to Vancouver. We don't need help reaching the floor next season with Zegras and Terry extensions, and the only benefit to having a cap hit higher than salary to us is reaching the floor, which we previously pointed out, we don't need.

Given Vancouver is already over the cap as built next season, and needs two more skaters and a backup goalie to fill out a roster, they've got absolutely no leverage to be asking for a pick for Meyers, and will be lucky to unload him for FC.

Voracek's $8.25M cap hit cost them whatever the prorated amount of $6.25M real dollars was this year and only $7.5M next year. Poolman's 2x$2.5M remaining comes with real salaries of $3M each season, and Pearson's single year of $3.25M comes with $4.25M in actual salary. They're not the type of cap dump deals that Arizona has typically taken on - Pearson might be a little more up their alley after his $1.5M bonus is paid, but that's it. I also think they would either prefer picks are younger players - every trade they've made where they've absorbed cap has either been for straight draft picks or included ELC level players (Nathan Smith, Vladislav Kolyachonok.)
