I think Detroit takes that. No use for Fleury though. Would honestly rather have Myers in that deal.

I'd be interested in thoughts on that. Colton + Myers for Zadina + what exactly?

Probably literally just this deal. Add a second and third not in 2023 .

Don't see us trading Maatta since he was just extended.

Just say the Colton was going to get traded, what would be the ask.

Just looks bad for attracting future players to trade a guy just signed. Plus I like him, he compliments players well.

I'll just say since he's part of this trade, Fluery is out of the question. He very may well be our 3LD next year and with his cap hit coming in under league minimum next year, there's no way he's moved. Colton I can't see being moved unless he wants something north of 4 mil. That's too much for Tampa too afford, and Colton has arbitration rights so it's not entirely impossible. If I were to move Colton it would be for a player who either A, has term and is making less than 3.5 ish lets say, or a player who is still on a very cheap RFA deal like Hagel is. I haven't really considered "appropriate" fits for a Colton trade but let me do some thinking and I'll get back to you. I'm not sure Detroit would be a good partner for Tampa if Colton is involved, but I will make a trade for Detroit and for a team where I think it might equate better.

Yeah you can keep Fleury, he's not needed in this trade. Like I stated above Myers would be of more interest in my opinion.

Myers would be possible. He's only a 250,000 dollar penalty if he's in the minors next season so it's not as bad as this year where it's 1 mil something or other. He may get another shot next year, but we have 4 NHL RD who he won't be better than and Thompson and Crozier in the minors. I said forget it with trying to figure it out league wide. The only name I could come up with after brief digging is a guy like Dillon Dube. Makes 2.3 next year and is an RFA (with arbitration rights). He'll be 25 during next season so a year or two younger than Colton.

Detroit I dont think really makes sense as partners right now. Guys who could possibly fit are Walman (Stevie would be nuts to trade him), maybe Rasmussen, Hanas (just cause I know his game well), or any other young gun who could step in and make an impact within the next 1-2 years. Excluding Mazur, Wallinder, AJO obviously. Zadina could be a fit, but I would just rather overpay Colton than hope Zadina blossoms. Colton and Zadina both have more steps they can get to IMO, but Colton currently sits higher and I don't see him regressing

I guess maybe Walman for Colton +??? or Hanas + ??? for Colton

I think Zadina would be a great fit for tampa
As colton will probably cost around 4 millions and jeanot around 2 millions, I think tampa should vonsider trading colton rfa rights
I dont think paying roughly 9m to lock up your 3rd line is a great idea
Jeannot will likely not be traded as tampa paied and entire draft class to get him
For those reasons I think tampa should trade colton for a nice potential 2 way scoring winger with a cheap deal like zadina

Walman is a no go. Hanas is a possibility. I think Zadina could blossom in Tampa's top six. Maybe something along the lines of Hanas and Zadina for Colton and Myers. Maybe we add a third to this?

Yeah I wouldn't move Walman no way. The thing is we likely have Eyssimont who (I hope) will step into the top 6 next year. Yeah Hanas and Zadina + 24' 3rd for Colton and Myers makes some sense. I'd just keep Colton though.

Not going to lie I'll probably use that trade the odd time in some AGMs, I like the idea of adding Colton.

He had such a good camp in TC last summer. I hope he finds his way into the lineup come October. Being a lefty and more of a playmaker definitely doesn't help his cause though lol

No we have quite a few play makers, we need guys that shoot. One reason I think it could be a decent trade for both sides. Colton seems to shoot more and Tampa has alot of other shooters.

No I'm talking about Hanas. Him being lefty and a playmaker doesn't help his case on the wings is what i'm sayin. He will eventually be a good QB on the powerplay, but he isn't shoot first, wings need shooters. Yeah Colton I don't think has the offensive creativity or ceiling to be a guy who should be the first option to carry the puck. He already has a lethal one timer though. But it does need more development.

I don't see Tampa moving Colton, but if they did move him, picks and prospects that likely aren't ready to help Tampa aren't going to do it. I would hope JBB doesn't accept Zadina as the main piece in the hopes he can find his game in Tampa when he hasn't really so far in Detroit. Colton is very likely to take Killorn's spot on the 2nd line next year, so Tampa would need an impact player coming back. Zadina isn't that guy imo. Rasmussen is a player I could see Tampa interested in, or maybe Kubalik as a short term replacement, but not Zadina. Obviously none of Detroit's highest end prospects would be available, and those that Tampa could get wouldn't help the team next year.
