future considerations for Clifford would be more reasonable

How in the world would the Leafs be able to acquire those picks for those farm hands - Neither LA nor SEA need those pieces and are not likely to give those picks to get them.

And Demote Holmberg and sign O'Rielly 3x $5m to give the team at least a CHANCE at another playoff run.

ZAR instead of Robertson on 4th LW too.

Not signing O'Reilly gives them cap space for the trade deadline to swing a little harder instead of having to drop salary on two teams.

Signing ROR @$5m and dropping Holmberg means just shy of $1m in cap space to use at the trade deadline. That's PLENTY.

Leafs aren't getting anything for SDA or Clifford. The only reason Clifford was signed last summer for a cheap two year deal is so he could be a veteran presence with the Marlies. Leafs had no intention of playing hm unless in a dire emergency. His salary doesn't hurt the cap.
Given the choice think the Leaf sign ROR over Bunting. Just gives them more flexibility in the lineup with another NHL centre.

So I guess the 12 games he played for the Leafs is the reason why TO had such a good season? Without him they have no chance of making the playoffs with essentially the same team eh?

ROR won't get 5 from TO, it's a luxury they can't afford, although I would sooner give him money over Bunting. ROR has a greater impact.

And he's better, but if Bunting is willing to sign a long term deal under 3.5, I think they would definitely do it.
