Smith over $2,000,000 is interesting. I'd give him max $1,400,000.

Honestly might’ve been trying to make this a little too realistic, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t underpaying anyone.

The Smith overpay and Zucker underpay might even out in the end anyways. The big issue here though is Blackwood is your starting goalie.

Blackwood is a backup. Making him your starter is asking for trouble.

While I would take the 2nd rounder....I think you don't understand the Blackwood situation.

His QO is $3-3.3m. If you are acquiring him, why would he sign for less unless he knew he had no other options? And if he HAD no other options, why would you trade for him?

I see it as the Penguins giving him a shot. He still has potential in my eyes.

Fair point which I didn’t see. The point is I think the Penguins shoudl get a younger goalie who still has something to prove, maybe UPL? Idk
