Can't see how the Habs turn that down.

Exactly. Oloffson is kinda pushed out of the lineup, and Buffalo needs a solid stay at home D. Win win for both teams.

If Kane wants to comes to Sabres, he shouldn't be enticed by a big overpay in $$$$.
Personally, I think the Sabres are a great option for Kane. Hometown kid, could lead the Sabres into the playoffs.....and hopefully more in the two or three years of his NHL playing deal.
But cap is previous. About 6m X 3 would be the max.

I don't see MTL adding caphit for a small winger with Caulfield, Gally, Farrell, RHP, etc. already.

Not saying it's impossible if another trade follows, but if not, MTL doesnt take the risk to be unable to move a (small) body and just take whatever pick they can get for Edmundson at the next TDL, which better fits their rebuilding plan.

None of the players mentioned have scored as prolifically as Olofsson. He can even be a TDL target if he is producing.

3 x 6 maybe, but I'd pass, he would just be blocking a spot that Kulich or Rosen could take.
