At least he drafted well, but those FA years were nightmarish

Treliving was a fine GM, he will absolutely have a new job in no time at all. Every GM makes a few bad trades or signings but overall I was very happy with his tenure

I'm surprised you left out the biggest mistake Trevlilng made. Sign Huberdeau to his 10.5m X 8 contract which starts when he is 30 years of age. It's a Bobrovsky contract maybe worse.

Huberdeau fills the void left behind by Gaudreau.

And Calgary won the Tkachuk trade against Florida after signing Huberdeau to an extension.

It had to be done and I'm confident that Huberdeau will bounce back after his first year in Calgary.

Well I know that is an opinion, but mine is different.
I would have preferred not to extend Huberdeau.....maybe even traded him at TDL for assets. But either way, the Flames would have much better off having 10.5m in cap space the next 8 years, rather than one Huberdeau. I'm not confident he will ever play to his contract.
I actually liked the trade for both teams but certainly not the Huberdeau extension.

For Huberdeau's sake (and his sanity) I hope he plays well.
