Bruh, Landy ain't gone forever. Why Nieto over Cogs?

We dont know how long he will be out for. When/if hes healthy next season then they can make moves to fit him under the cap again or if he comes back late enough then they will have accrued enough cap space to keep everyone

Why the posts with no Landeskog next season?

Hes been ruled out for the playoffs and theres no timeline to return. Nobody really knows when he will be back so everyone is just speculating

I think Toews may well be more done than Landy and it's time to give some of the young bucks a shot rather than signing the likes of Toews and Stastny.

Tough to say on Toews. Its an illness not an injury so it really just depends on how his body recovers

Which young guys? I dont think the Avs have anyone better than Stastny to graduate next year. Polin and Malinski are probably the closest to NHL caliber but neither is a C. Maybe Foudy if he makes a big jump but Id still rather have Stastny than a rookie heading into the playoffs. If a young player has a good camp and outperforms a vet player then by all means put them in the lineup, but a playoff team should not be leaving holes in the roster in order to gift a spot to a rookie who may or may not deserve it
