Description
Think this is pretty realistic. Granlund will be costly to move. I think the fact that he can play center helps the case to keep him around. Geno can't be expected to play 82 games again. They need to play him in the top 6. He's not a 3rd line player. Let Rust play 3rd line. He's a smart two-way player who can bring some offense and balanced scoring to the 3rd line.

Rebuilt the bottom 6. Hopefully Staal would want to come back. He is still a horse and would help the PK and bottom 6 tremendously.

I don't love bringing back Jarry and DeSmith. But Jarry is the best available option on the UFA market and he's only 27.

Can't see Carter going anywhere, unfortunately, and I have serious doubts that Granlund will work out. His offense disappeared in Pittsburgh, and he quickly lost the 3C spot to Poehling. Buying out Granlund would cost 833k next year and 1.833M for 3 years after, that's pretty doable. I'd rather take the dead cap and use the space to get a better middle-six player.

Buy out granlund. And I wouldn’t give up nylander just to get rid of Carter. I’d rather pay Carter the $3M to sit in the press box for a season then do that. Also goalies have to change. Nice pickup w gavrikov though

After I posted, I thought of Korpisalo. I would definitely look to him as a replacement for Jarry. I would think LA would do their best to keep him, but he would be a good get.

It's a 5th round pick. Who cares. Make it FC. They are getting a 3rd and decent young player for 1 year of JMFC.

Yeah it's not happening lol. Rebuilding teams don't send picks for vets.
