If Toews does decide to continue playing the third line 3C in Pittsburgh might be a nice fit. He shouldn't cost that much, but I will be surprised if he doesnt retire.

Fair comparison but this is Toews we are talking about here. Teams know what he brings to the table and I’d expect he probably gets a deal in the price range of $4-5m

Don't see Carter waiving. Overpay on Toews imo and definitely an underpay on Jarry - so I guess it would cancel out.

Im a Chicago fan, I get that his value is more than just his on ice production.

But I still think if he does decide to play it doesn't cost that much. Taking a team friendly deal is the exact thing a leader like Toews would do if hes chasing another cup.

This team would be much worse than last year. The only upgrades are shipping off Dumoulin and bringing in Mayfield and the third line might be even slower and worse than last year. This team isn’t even close to the playoffs.
