Apparently bear wants high 3's on a 1 year deal for now, and I don't see how Chicago benefits from this. Overpay on Luke Schenn imo, I like the Tampa trade works out for both teams with Tampa running low on money.

Hawks need to get to the cap floor a Murphy's contract is very helpful in that regard. Also, he's really well liked. Not saying the Hawks would not trade him, but the return would have to be eye popping similar to when Hagel got traded for two 1st's at the deadline in 2022. With that said, I think the Hawks and VAN do deals this summer.

That is an awful offer for Murphy. CHI declines.

Hawks decline. This deal does nothing to move their rebuild along. If they trade Murphy at all, it will be for picks and/or prospects, not a couple of established NHL'ers
