Why not just keep Carter as your 13th forward?

I suppose it is possible you could get a similar-ish deal from somebody, but it will not be the Blues. Zero chance they give up their 1st top 10 pick in 16 years for one year of a scoring winger, which is the last thing they need right now.

Wouldn't trade a 1st for Boeser. I think we can get better, like maybe make playoffs, but not better to the point where were a cup contender

Not trading our top 10 first for Guentzel who only has 1 year left and is going to want big money on his next contract. Plus we already got Vrana and Kap for next year in addition to buchnevich, Kyrou, Saad, and Blais. So we are good on wingers
