Sabres pass. The front office likes him, even if I don't. Trading jokiharju without getting a right shot d back means that Lyubushkin is our only right shot d. Plus the forwards coming back are exactly what we don't need. We need some size and grit, we don't need depth scoring. We also have at least 4 recent first round pick forwards coming.

I highly doubt Buffalo passes on this steal.

Somebody else will have to be the beneficiary of the Sharks generosity. No chance it's buffalo.

Steal? Labanc gets paid significantly more than his cap hit next season, which is already high given his production. They don't need him for their PP unit, and he doesn't kill penalties. Zetterlund is another who is a bottom 6 forward that can be good defensively 5 on 5, but again he doesn't kill penalties. Both are very inconsistent, Labanc more so because you expect more offensive production from him than Zetterlund.

One of the Sabres biggest issues last season was a poor PK. If they acquire bottom 6 players, they need guys who are good defensively AND are proven on the PK. Neither Labanc or Zetterlund fit that bill. Adams also still believes in Jokiharju, and given his age he'll likely still get a chance to prove himself as a player they can keep long term. If this was such a steal for Buffalo, you wouldn't have proposed it.
