How does this improve the defense if we rebuild or retool lol all these step could be in 1 agm

Still haven't figure out the forwards as we are in retool mode not rebuild and if we get a better dman and a 4th for just $300000, then I think it is an improvement

Doubtful. Schmidt isnt good, and has a nasty cap hit till '25

just cause a d-man is available for cheap, doesnt mean they'll be interested. Better off with Jokharju than Schmidt

Schmidt would be are 4th best Dman, and his actual Salary is a Mill under his Cap hit. For a 4th I will take him until we have a replacement

He's not better than jokiharju. They're about the same in terms of value added.

Consider for a second why a fan may be content with his departure at the cost of a 4th rounder. WPG aren't exactly in a cap crisis

As he has helped Samberg improve, I am sure he will help with Buffalo's younger d. Just isn't that top dman we need.

Maybe because they have a few highly rated D prospects almost ready. Like 4 out of there 10 top prospects are Dman

The award given for being a good dude? What does that have to do with him being a better defender than Jokiharju?

This is like a sabres fan being okay trading krebs for 4th rounder because Noah Ostlund is promising. Yeah the depth is good and yea that means someone has to go but if theyre any good you probably set the bar higher than a pick with less than 5% of ever being an nhler

Well basically cause he is a good guy and what Wpg said isn't the first time I heard Schmidt is a good teacher for young Dman

Well sooner or later you have to make room for prospects and someone has to go. And by your logic that 4th isn't worth much, so why not get a player that might help know.

Judging by Cheveldayoff's media availability today, the Jets should change "fuelled by passion" to "malaise forever"
