I'm not sure what the obsession is with Korpisalo. I just dont see it. You are by no means the only person to have linked Korpi to the canes, I just havent seen anything of late to make me excited with that move at all. especially at that money.

Doesn't help the Avs so they decline.

What are the Avs wanting out of the many ACGMs moving Girard?
Prospects or NHL RD, or NHL forwards?

A 2C is obviously their most glaring need. Cap space secondly. This fills the latter and maybe they could flip the pick in a deal for a 2C but they've basically gambled away their last best realistic trade chip. Any trade involving one of Girard/Toews (or even Byram) simply has to bring back a 2C to really help the Avs. NHL D are most definitely not a cause for concern when healthy whether right or left.

Assumption is that the Canes need a GK that:
- has shown they can be a 1B-to-1A
- can do it reasonably competently
- isn't made of glass

Looking at non-Korpi UFAs, looks like hoping to give it a go with Jarry or Adin Hill, or trusting that Varlomov won't hit an age cliff.

I dont see any way they get that much for him. Goalies are notoriously fickle, and hes not Lundqvist. He has a history of being mediocre as well before this year. Recall last year in the playoffs the Bruins went away from him as well against the Canes.
