Seattle passes. They are still building out a prospect pool so the picks are worth more than a contract that may restrict them from re-signing Dunn and Beniers over the next two years.

We could use more toughness and physicality and actually could use a bit more defence. I take a deal similar to this. The pick swap is about even already so maybe no pick going back. If he doesn't work out he can go to Grand Rapids and be a mentor down there with very minimal cap ramifications.

If you want to move JGP I would suggest Buffalo. He is really exactly what they need. A defensive forward that wins draws. I think his offence would probably take a step forward too.

Disagree this isn't 1985 where we need an enforcer and Yzerman said no to this exact move. He said we need to get more competitive and win board battles and net front with the guys we have, not go out and sign a 6'5 goon who fights which is what this player is. I pass all day on giving him a roster spot and rather sign someone whose worth something

Trading without giving up your better players will start getting insanely hard because I couldn’t name one intriguing prospect in the Islanders system
