The problem is that there are very few teams who are able to afford NY the cap relief of absorbing Panarin's massive contract; LA isn't one of them, and any trade with the Kings would have to be cap-neutral, which defeats the purpose of the exercise. And as your lineup shows, you don't need Phillip Danault when you have such an able #2C as Vince Trocheck there.

Stop trading Goodrow when buying him out gets you more cap space for 2 years than his AAV and then nobody can complain about how much he sucks (he does)

Wings are not in the market for a 30 old player who has 4 years and they definitely do not need a another LHD defenseman who is a prospect.
