Dude, come on man you cant believe he's worth 6.5 million and blame it on a linemate. I agree the whole defence was bad. My point is he got worse than last year. GIves the puck away 49 last year and 53 the year before that. He dosent play on the PP even though he has a 100mph shot from the point. Career high 108 goals against when he was on the ice. Worse plus/minus of career -19. His CORSI is ugly as well at 45% but you will probably debate thats a team stat.
Bottom line I dont think he will ever get back to where he was from when he injured his back and his play is showing it. Dude was demoted to 3rd paring for a reason by the coaching staff and Berube called him out on it about his own play personally. He's just too nice. He has time still sure but the ROI completely sucks right now for this team. I'd still trade Krug over Parayko first though.
1 - All those things are in fact on-ice stats, which means it draws contributions and fault from all six players on the ice. That's just basic methodology, man. And only mentioning all the things he doesn't do is not fair analysis. When do you get to the part where you concede all the things he does do?
2 - Parayko was one of the very best defensemen in the NHL in both the back half of last season and the playoffs. Both statistically and eye test. From the start of February, he was #1 among all Dmen in on-ice GA and #3 in on-ice GF. So yes, he has been back to his best since the injury, which is at least at the moment no longer an issue.
Besides, if you want to trade him, fine. But to throw him away like trash for this return? And they actually need to add something? Bruh... you're just biased against the guy.
Edit: One more thing. Berube and Army need to start talking about their own mistakes that hurt the team first. Then they can start pointing fingers at players.
