Was thinking Tippett is good for 30 goals and still young. Brink is still a higher end prospect. Blues have 3 1st rounders and goal is back to the playoffs ASAP so had some extra picks to play with. Neighbours needs more time still and figured Flyers would pull the trigger getting an extra 1st, top prospect, and a better chance at Bedard or top 3/4 pick.

Absolutely krug isn’t worth much with taht cap hit a measly third and not so great prospect. Forsling has been our d best dman who actually plays d man for the last two years.

Krug is an aging injury prone overpriced LHD, Forsling has more value than that.

Have you watched Parayko play the last 2 seasons? Ranked dead last on the Blues in Goals Above Replacement at -6.6 GAR. 7th worst among dman in the category. On ice Goals for % of 37.26 is also last among all Blues dmen. At 6'6 he plays like a damn dwarf, gets outmuscled around the net and in the corners. Cant close a gap to save his life. With his money & term left. You wont get much for him pal... sorry he did this to himself.

I think you are probably right overall. I think Krug is slightly better offensively still and can QB a PP. Defensively, not great and you are right gets injured a bit. Army made a panic move there when he lost Petro to FA.

All things being equal, I think Parayko is a god fit in Edmonton. Probably needs to have one of Yamamoto, Foegle, or Ceci going the other way to make the money work.

This is just nonsense. And yeah, I've watched every game. And I've also watched caterwauling Blues fans with irrational hatred/simplistic analysis for their own good players for decades. Parayko plays the hardest D minutes in the league with arguably the worst top pairing partner in the league and is top 10 in total defensive stops, none of which get factored into these stats you cite that aren't even individual stats. Give him a real partner and he'll star. Trade him for garbage and he will star elsewhere. Some folks need to get a grip.

Dude, come on man you cant believe he's worth 6.5 million and blame it on a linemate. I agree the whole defence was bad. My point is he got worse than last year. GIves the puck away 49 last year and 53 the year before that. He dosent play on the PP even though he has a 100mph shot from the point. Career high 108 goals against when he was on the ice. Worse plus/minus of career -19. His CORSI is ugly as well at 45% but you will probably debate thats a team stat.

Bottom line I dont think he will ever get back to where he was from when he injured his back and his play is showing it. Dude was demoted to 3rd paring for a reason by the coaching staff and Berube called him out on it about his own play personally. He's just too nice. He has time still sure but the ROI completely sucks right now for this team. I'd still trade Krug over Parayko first though.

1 - All those things are in fact on-ice stats, which means it draws contributions and fault from all six players on the ice. That's just basic methodology, man. And only mentioning all the things he doesn't do is not fair analysis. When do you get to the part where you concede all the things he does do?

2 - Parayko was one of the very best defensemen in the NHL in both the back half of last season and the playoffs. Both statistically and eye test. From the start of February, he was #1 among all Dmen in on-ice GA and #3 in on-ice GF. So yes, he has been back to his best since the injury, which is at least at the moment no longer an issue.

Besides, if you want to trade him, fine. But to throw him away like trash for this return? And they actually need to add something? Bruh... you're just biased against the guy.

Edit: One more thing. Berube and Army need to start talking about their own mistakes that hurt the team first. Then they can start pointing fingers at players.
