Trochek was actually the guy I'd have liked the Avs to target last off-season. I wouldn't have thought the Rangers would want to trade him however. The Avs should accept that imo.

Trocheck would be a great fit for the Avs. I just don't think Girard is the guy the Rangers would be looking for in return. I think they'd want Byram (obv. involving a + on the NYR side) or Toews over Girard

I agree on Trochek as a fit so I'm guessing he must have wanted to stay East or it makes no sense the Avs didn't check in on him unless they were hoping to still sign Kadri cheap. He also has an NMC which probably blocks the trade if he does want to stay East. Byram would involve a MASSIVE plus. Toews could be a possibility though I wouldn't be overly happy about it, but the fact he only has one season left on his contract could see him moved.

He was only going to sign in the East. So he probably blocks this trade. Would be a good fit tho.

Schneider+ would have to be included for either Byram or Toews.

Yeah I couldn't remember if I'd heard anything to indicate that or not but it rang a bell. He would have been almost the perfect signing last season. Hell, I'd have probably found a way to pay him a bit more if it swung it.

Flyers say no for sure. TK for Miller straight up isn't enough let alone the Flyers retaining too. That deal is far off imo.

The Islanders and Rangers have never made a meaningful trade with each other. This one will not be the first.

First, don't fire your coach.

Second, stop lying to yourselves about your number one centre position. You either need to find a way to add a legitimate number one centre, or get a second centre that's at least as good as Zibanejad (it's not Chytil). And the only way you're going to manage that is to stop bathing in your riches on the right side of the blueline and be prepared to move Schneider.

I suggest you start in Winnipeg, and find out just how dead set Dubois is on playing in Montreal.

Third, get better at the top of the left side of your defense. That Troechek for Girard deal would work.
