Description

A while ago I made a Horvat trade comp for Dubois. I keep on seeing Jets fans add Dach and Barron and Mailloux, or other insane asks. Then there's the narrative that they'll sell him to a contender. The Horvat trade then doesn't really fit. He'll likely not re-sign making him a rental. So, I'm comparing Dubois to a contender as a rental to Tarasenko. Yup, you read that right. $3.75M Vladimir Tarasenko and $1.9M of
Niko Mikkola for Sammy Blais, an AHL RHD, a late 1st, and a 3rd.

Accounting for factors like age, there will be added value. Mtl pick would be Calgary or Florida's.

and btw, this is speculation. WE HONESTLY DONT HAVE A CLUE! So, Jets fans please find me a trade comp that YOU think is better or closer to the value YOU see in PLD. Prove me wrong, that's what this site is for. And be nice Habs fans.

I would be pretty surprised to see Martinook in a deal. Now if you’re looking for a cap dump-ish player in the deal, we could get paid to take him on and flip him to you

Dach would be an awesome acquisition, but the Habs traded proposed here is likely the deal if one is done.

Too bad the Canes don’t make big swings for rentals. Montreal is rumored to be the only team he wants to play for, so why do the Canes go after a 2C they don’t need and waste assets for a guy who isn’t a great systemic fit and almost certainly sign?
