Pass on Keller. The Canes need an additional top six forward. Moving out Teravainen to bring in someone that is at best lateral is not a good idea.

That's just not enough for Lafreniere

Yeah, probably not enough on Laf. But I think that Turbo hasn't really produced enough to justify his $5.4m price tag and Clayton Keller is much more market value.

It’s moot.. NYR aren’t moving him so it would need to be a price you say NO to and most would laugh at

I mean Lafreniere seems like he needs a change of scenery kind of like KK did from Montreal.

Necas is not Lafreniere. Last year tbh I probably would've. There are a few differences between Necas's and Lafreniere's situations. The Hurricanes have proven recently that they are able to develop talent very well in a way that the New York Rangers haven't proven outside of Miller.

Teuvo's still one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. Not to mention, he's paid 5.4 million. When he was scoring 70 points, that contract was larceny. He's making about market value. If you're trying to argue he's a cap dump, which is what you are implying saying he hasn't produced enough to justify it, you are flat-out wrong.

Not exactly moot....there is a price for LaF- just light years away from the cabbage offered here.

Most canes fans on here would not have moved Necas for this package. Unfortunately the pipe dream of players walking into the N and being élite instantly is far fetched. How long did it take Mackinnon to get 100 points. His first 4 seasons were piss poor considering he was get more time and better deployment. Of the recent forwards that NYR agave drafted and failed on(lias anderson, kravtsov). Lias was always a head case and a gamble which unfortunately he got in his own way of developing. Kravs was rank by most as a 3rd round pick and NYR jumped on him after he had a hot stretch in the K(terrible gamble). Chytil, Kakko, Laf, othmann are all looking great(but it takes time like Necas and Mackinnon did). You should try doing a little exercise, make a chart of 30 awesome players that were high picks(excluding the top10’S of the league) check out their points/60 5v5 as see how they all stack up. Take a look at what season they took off. Laf hasn’t even got 3 full seasons in yet, he’s a kid.

It’s moot because no one will pay it, NYR won’t accept less.

I'm not arguing a cap dump... I'm just saying that we need more scoring from the Top 6 and Tuevo's not doing it for us.... Maybe it's just a fluke year and I'm just overreacting about the lack of scoring from our top six.

I'm just not sure that Rangers management will be as patient as you are. It's New York and people demand results right away or else your deemed a failure.

Fine ... but please explain how a former #1OA is worth 3 picks- a 3rd,4th, and 5th in next year's draft. Each of those picks is has a low probability of amounting to anything in the NHL- let alone making it at all. For all the "disappointment" regarding Laf....while he may or may not achieve what other #1's have- he is an NHL player. So to trade him for three picks- each of which is a long shot for a cup of coffee in the NHL- I'm sorry, but I'll pass.

I think management knows they aren’t giving them enough opportunity to pad the stats. Might even be intentional to support the bridge deals. I have no idea but they are smart enough to not expect the world from 3 kids on a 3rd line and 2nd pp for 30 seconds if they are even on it.

Drury's assistant hangs up on you with that offer. Not even close to being close.

What? Teuvo had 37 points in 68 games. Roughly a 45 point pace over 82 games, somewhere between 45 and 50. That's absolutely fine for Teravainen... stop it.
