Flames say no. Huge downgrade from Hanifin to Brodie. Lindholm for Nylander is rental for rental but Flames have edge there too because a 1C is more valuable than a 1W.

Calgary says no. Brodie is not good and I think the flames would struggle to re-sign Nylander.

IIRC Nylander was born in Calgary during his dad's time playing as a Flame. But after Gaudreau and Tkachuk, the new GM is likely going to target players with term left on their contracts.

If it was Brodie from 3 yrs ago then I would consider it and we can't afford Nylander.

Sure he was born there but didn't grow up there so I'm guessing it would have no baring on where he signs. I'm guessing he will want to go to a big market (New York, LA, Dallas, Boston, stay in Toronto).

It doesn't, my father was born in Cali but grew up in Chicago. He feels no connection to Cali
