You actually think that that's a legitimate offer for Quinton Byfield? Would you accept it for Juraj Slafkovsky?

Drury's assistant doesn't even take that call.

I don't think there's a single player on the Canadiens I'd trade Byfield for. Suzuki maybe if he was still on his ELC.

Definitely not trading him for a mid-round 1st.

Nope, wouldn't trade him 1-for-1 for Caufield or Guhle.

remove NYR 2nd rounder, add MTL's 5th overall, and then add another MTL 1st to dump off the Andersson cap dump and NYR may consider.

Oh, that Rangers trade might be my favorite one I've seen on this site in a long time.

You wouldn’t trade a guy who scored 3 goals for a Guy who could hit 50 in any given year 🤣

I would not. Byfield is 20 and hasn't even come close to reaching his potential. Once he matures and builds out his frame, he's going to be a beast in the NHL. I'd take that over 5'5" Caufield every day of the week.

It took Tage Thompson a while to get going in the NHL as well, but I suspect you'd trade Caufield for him 1-for-1 in a heartbeat. Byfield has all the tools to be the next Thompson.

Lol Byfield will be a stud but assuming every big player will be Tage is a stretch. Caufield is already among the best goal scorers in the league and hasn’t come close to his potential either.

Assuming Tage 2+ years ago was going to be Tage now was a stretch. Yet here we are.

The Kings have been criticized for their lack of size and toughness, and is arguably the reason they lost to the Oilers in the playoffs two years running. Trading away a 6'5" power forward for a borderline "little person" isn't going to help in that regard. I'll stick with Byfield.

assuming Byfield is gonna become Tage because Tage became Tage makes no sense

I didn't say Byfield would become Tage, I said Byfield could become Tage because he has all the tools. Caufield certainly won't ever become Tage. Best case scenario is Martin St. Louis and I'd rather have another Tage than St. Louis.
